History

16th Century

In the 1599 Gorla Minore was governed by Terzaghi family originated from Milan. Giovanni Terzaghi who had become the major canon of the Duomo quoted in his testament the Oblati with the promise to keep always active the life of the church of San.Maurizio by giving the Oblati this duty.

In this background of progress and beauty start the life of the Collegio degli Oblati then it will be call Collegio Rotondi.

The College, thanks to his very innovative teaching method, became a cultural pole and his fame increased. At the begging the role of the Rector was mixed with the Prefect of the Church of San Maurizio, as Terzaghi specify in his testament.

With the continuous development of the scholar activities, the Rector figure amplified his mansions such as manage the school, coordinate the work of the teachers and all the administrative duties.

17th Century

In this century of change guided by the philosophy movement of rationalism and the growth of more affirmation of science, overwhelms Milano that became one of the main pole of the illuminism. With the presence of notable people such as Alessandro Verri, Cesare Beccaria and Giuseppe Parini.
