The School for Advanced Studies (SAS) is a SACS accredited dual-enrollment secondary school in Miami, Florida. It is a part of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools System and is located at five campuses of Miami Dade College: Homestead campus, Kendall campus, North campus, West campus, and Wolfson campus.

Overview

SAS is a nationally recognized High school for students in grades 11-12. The model SAS follows particularly appeals scholars who are seeking acceleration and enhancement in their education. While finishing their last two years of high school, students simultaneously earn an Associate's Degree from Miami Dade College(MDC). This is an incredibly unique opportunity to strategically advance their educational journey and intake a rigorous curriculum.

SAS works with Miami Dade College, alongside the district (MDCPS), to strive for a fostering, welcoming, and diverse environment for all students. Their goal is to enrich every students experience within the school and directly them in the world beyond the classroom as well.

The School for Advanced Studies is an excellent choice for students seeking a conjunction of secondary and post-secondary education, both extremely critical stage of a scholars academic journey.[1][2][3]

Student eligibility

Students interested in attending SAS must apply in the fall of their sophomore year.

Students must have:

  1. A minimum 3.0 unweighted grade-point average (GPA)
  2. Earned required exam scores (PERT or Accuplacer)
  3. Submitted the application on time and correctly
  4. Record of exemplary attendance
