The 2015–16 season was Southend United's 110th year in existence and their first season back in League One after gaining promotion the previous season.[1] Along with competing in League One, the club also participated in the FA Cup, League Cup and Football League Trophy. The season covers the period from 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2016.

Pre-season friendlies

On 3 June 2015, Southend United announced their first confirmed pre-season friendly against Charlton Athletic.[2] On 8 June 2015, a friendly against West Ham United.[3] On 11 June 2015, a further two friendlies were announced.[4] Also a trip to Dagenham & Redbridge was confirmed.[5]
