The Drenica Uprising began on January 22 and ended on February 18, 1945. The uprising was led by Albanian rebels under the command of notable leaders such as Shaban Polluzha, Mehmet Gradica, Miftar Bajraktari, and Gani Laushi. The uprising was directed against the Yugoslav Partisans as Albanian rebels sought to resist the new communist regime's consolidation of power in Kosovo following the end of World War II.
