We Dance to a Different Disco, Honey, played by pop-punk band Short Stack, was first released on their official YouTube channel. They then deleted it, thinking that it was too much, although apparently another YouTuber had copied it, and it then spread around YouTube. The band then had no choice but to then re-post it themselves. We Dance to a Different Disco, Honey, sometimes just abbreviated as Disco Honey, is the fifth track in the band's second album - "This is Bat Country", released 12 November 2010.
Different versions of the song
The first version of "Disco Honey" (released on Short Stack's YouTube channel) had the line "so cry me another river". When they re-posted it the line was changed to "so cry me a fucking river". This second version was also used on the album. The opening of the video clip hears a crowd yelling "This ain't no god damn disco". This audio is then placed on the end the fifth track, "Werewolves", and re-named the Cannons.
Music Video
The music video of "We Dance to a Different Disco Honey" carries on from the music video of "Planets", which is the second track of the album, and was the second single released from the album. It shows Shaun, Bradie, Andy and their female friend fighting their way out of a prison, of which they were captured and thrown into at the conclusion of "Planets", and they defeat all of their enemies. It is yet unknown if this will carry on any further with any of the other songs from "This is Bat Country" or if this music video will see the conclusion of the plots.
