Joseph Masterson (1899–1953) was a British clergyman who held high office in the Roman Catholic Church.[1]

He was born on 29 January 1899 in Manchester, England. He was ordained a priest on 27 July 1924. he served as Vicar General of the Diocese of Salford and a priest in parish of St. Mary’s of The Angels and St.Clare.[2] He was elevated to the episcopy on 8 Frbruary 1947. His principal consecrator was Cardinal Bernard Griffin, co-consecrators Bishop of Salford Henry Vincent Marshall and Bishop of Soli Humphrey Bright. On 19 March 1947, he was appointed Archbishop of Birmingham, a post he held until his death on 30 November 1953.
