Multiple articles and news chapters have been done on significantly successful scholars whom made an impact both within the program and the world beyond; This is an example of a stellar alumni, Andrea Pita. |
|||
Ms. Pita attended SAS West from 2021-2023, recently graduated and is now attending the University of Chicago. During her time at SAS, she received many awards and recognitions for the extensive work she contributed to children who have been diagnosed with anxiety and depression. She founded a non-profit organization, ''The Anxiety Kids'', which raised over $80,000 for the Nicklaus Children's Hospital located in Miami. Pita organized several drives gathering supplies such as toys, school supplies, and hygiene products; Collectivley donating it to the hospital. Beyond her organization, she continuously advocated for mental health; For example, at West campus, she founded the "Mindfulness Club" which was designed with the purpose of discussing positive psychology, and hosting meditation sessions. |
