Requested move

[edit]
The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: Moved as requested. The argument requiring that a reader accidentally type a word in another language, complete with diacritic, presents no basis in policy and too remote of a concern to be given weight. There is otherwise consensus for the move. bd2412 T 18:20, 6 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Japón (film)Japón – This film is the only “Japón” on Wikipedia, so the disambiguation is unnecessary. Japón currently redirects to Japan because it is its Spanish name, but Spanish is not related to Japan. It would be deleted if came up at WP:RFD. Gorobay (talk) 20:22, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose - Japón (Calle 13 song) was a 2006 breakthrough hit according to the Calle 13 (band) article, also later released on Los de Atrás Vienen Conmigo. The template has this song but no article yet. In ictu oculi (talk) 05:42, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
By “on Wikipedia” I meant “currently having an article on Wikipedia”. Gorobay (talk) 12:26, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I guessed that, but whether something is standalone or covered in another article doesn't matter per WP:DAB. Someone could easily make the Japón (Calle 13 song) article with less bytes than this RM. In ictu oculi (talk) 23:35, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. --BDD (talk) 18:46, 28 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. This is the only thing with an article that could be called "Japón", with that spelling and accent. If items like the song get an article, or even any real coverage in another article, distinguish with a hat note. Similar names like "Japon" have no actual bearing here. No one is served by leaving this a redirect to Japan.--Cúchullain t/c 15:52, 6 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
