Alex Dumas (July 17, 2002) is a Canadian motorcycle racer born in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, who currently competes in the Bridgestone Canadian Superbike Championship and previously in MotoAmerica. Dumas won the CSBK championship in 2021 at just 19 years old, becoming the youngest feature class champion in series history.[1]
Career

[edit]After racing in the KTM RC Cup across Mexico and Europe, Dumas joined the MotoAmerica Junior Cup as a 15-year-old in 2018. He quickly dominated the class, winning ten times and scoring 12 podiums in just 17 races.[2]
2019
[edit]Graduating to the Twins Cup in 2019, Dumas continued his strong form with five wins and eight podiums in eleven races. Dumas won the Twins Cup championship, becoming one of the youngest double-champions in series history. [2]
2020
[edit]Dumas moved to the MotoAmerica Superstock championship in 2020, his third consecutive season aboard a new machine. Despite a leg injury forcing him to miss a third of the season, Dumas scored three podiums and finished sixth in the championship as an 18-year-old riding for M4 Suzuki. [2]
2021
[edit]Deciding to leave the MotoAmerica series in 2021, Dumas returned home to race in the feature Pro Superbike class of the Canadian Superbike Championship. Riding a Liqui Moly Suzuki GSX-R1000, Dumas won four times and finished on the podium in every race to win the Superbike championship. At just 19 years old, Dumas became the youngest Superbike champion in CSBK history. [1]
2022
[edit]Defending his championship in 2022, Dumas exited the first two rounds tied with rival Ben Young atop the Superbike standings. However, a crash at Atlantic Motorsport Park handed a massive points lead to Young at the midway point of the season. Despite winning four times and finishing on the podium in every other race, Dumas was unable to make up the difference and finished second in the championship.[3]
2023
[edit]Dumas began the 2023 CSBK campaign as the title favourite, winning three of the first four races and extending a big championship lead. However, five consecutive victories for Ben Young and a crash in the final round at Shannonville Motorsport Park would hand a second consecutive title to Young. Dumas would finish the year with four victories and nine podiums in ten races, finishing second in the championship standings.[4]
