Side Quest is an upcoming American comedy anthology television series created by Ashly Burch, John Howell Harris and Katie McElhenney, that is set to be released on Apple TV+ on March 26, 2025. The series is a spin-off of the series Mythic Quest.
Premise
[edit]In an anthology format, each episode explores the lives of employees, players and fans of the video game Mythic Quest.

Production

[edit]On December 15, 2022, it was announced that Apple TV+ ordered Mere Mortals, an eight-episode companion series created and written by Ashly Burch, John Howell Harris and Katie McElhenney. The series would feature entirely new characters and focuses on the lives of employees, players and fans of the game Mythic Quest. The series was compared to the stand-alone episodes from Mythic Quest, such as "A Dark Quiet Death" and "Backstory!".[7] On November 14, 2024, the series was officially announced with its new title Side Quest and that it would consist of four episodes.[8]
Casting
[edit]In the series announcement on November 14, 2022, it was announced that Rob McElhenney and Derek Waters would reprise their Mythic Quest roles as Ian and Phil, respectively. Other actors announced include Anna Konkle, William Stanford Davis, Bria Henderson, Rome Flynn, Leonard Robinson, Gary Kraus, Annamarie Kasper, Esai Morales, and Shalita Grant.[8]
Marketing
[edit]The first trailer for the series debuted on February 28, 2025.[9]
Release
[edit]The series is set to release all four episodes on Apple TV+ on March 26, 2025, the same day as the season four finale of Mythic Quest.[10]
