Political history about the Cradle of Humankind
[edit]Would adding more connections to the current cite titled "cradle of humankind" to my deleted sections: "Debate Over the Title 'Cradle of Humankind' ” and "Controversy/Politics Surrounding Africa as the “Cradle of Humankind' ”, help to connect it to the article subject, or is it too unrelated. I would appreciate the advice, thank you. Rdano001 (talk) 06:10, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
Cradle of Mankind
[edit]Mankind is gender-neutral, coming from a time when adult male humans were called were as in werewolf, meaning man-wolf, not woman-wolf. Humankind doesn't sound right. Roy Robert Hay (talk) 08:33, 7 August 2023 (UTC)
- Agreed. It's a objectionable word. Personally I find it offensive. Unfortunately it seems as though the place in question has been saddled with its current stupid name since the beginning (I think so, anyway), so this article has to use it. I see there is a redirect from Cradle of Mankind, and also a disambiguation at Cradle of Humankind (disambiguation). 31.52.164.106 (talk) 12:48, 22 October 2023 (UTC)
