Family
[edit]Could you please shed some light between sheikh and sudhan tribes on. riz 14:12, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
If you look at Sudhans, they were Brahmin converts, it is not settled what they were, but the history shows pretty well that Sudhans were converted from Hindus. Shaikhs in India contrary to your belief were Arab traders who came to the Indian Subcontinent after the advent of Islam. Thus the Shaikhs in India and what is known as Kashmir are Arab immigrants to the Sub Continent. See history of Shaikhs in Indian Subcontinent. You are correct, in that his daughter is probably not a Sudhan, so you can delete the same.
Thanks for your input

I would like to know which part of this article is not correct
EagleEye 18:55, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
Part of family is corrected by original contributor, so I have no more objection left on this page. I would let EagleEye undo all taggings. Let me know if you want me to do it. Thanks riz 10:56, 13 February 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Riztech (talk • contribs)

Recent addition
[edit]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No._1_Squadron,_Indian_Air_Force in "Burma campaign" section which I pointed out earlier, does not cohere with rest of the paragraphs (although Trueblood786 made an effort again) and an image "Ground Subject Cup RIAF" which was basically awarded to airforce staff. This could further be substanciated by him joing Forest Services after the worldwar II due to the fact that no1 squadron ceased to exist. As climed on his wiki page, he migrated to Pakistan after partition and joined "Forest Services". I therefore, recommend the editing of this section. riz 10:49, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
Philanthropy
[edit]Regarding Ghulam Ahmad on the section "Philanthropy" where it sates as I quote "He gave scholarships for education of residents of Poonch District, particularly members of the Sudhan tribe, resulting in hundreds of graduates in engineering and medicine", can someone elaborate it further. riz 10:53, 15 February 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Riztech (talk • contribs)
- Riztech you can look up the names of his children and call them. Look up Nevada Petroleum Society. It has the phone number. Also you can check with Doctor Tufail at CMH Rawalakot. He was awarded a scholorship. Call the Rawalakot High School they have a scholorship for over 30 years.

You didn't get my point, claim is "he gave scholarships for graduates in engineering and medicine". You haven't explained it.

- Section of Philanthropy is edited and cleared of, no more issue with this section is left.

After the constructive discussion, I have agreed to remove all tags except referencing. I will try to fix referencing part and then remove the last tag too. riz 23:31, 16 February 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Riztech (talk • contribs)
These sections are discussed thoroughly and outcome is concluded by reaching a mutual concensus, therefore, I have taken off some offensive remarks from the previous discussion. riz 01:41, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
Pakistan Chrome Mines.
The books listed are clear historical reference to Baluchistan chrome being predessor to PCM. Thus until someone gets a Pakistan chrome annual report, this should suffice — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adnan1216 (talk • contribs) 18:45, 2 March 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Seems to me that everything is referenced so what is the issue

Notability
[edit]@Sajjad Altaf First thing as you were canvassed here you should have told Adnan1216 that how it is problematic and shouldn't be done. Secondly, you are cherry picking a single sentence out of context to establish notability but that won't work, as the sentence you quote "Sources may encompass published works in all forms and media, and in any language." is actually used to define a source. And by "source" it means a published work about the subject, not by the subject. So your argument that he has published a book does not establish notability. -- SMS Talk 21:30, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
- I don't think, it's a case of canvassing. For canvassing to happen, you have to know beforehand that a person holds a favorable opinion about a subject but here the case is different. I have never heard of Ghulam Ahmad (engineer) before in my life so there is no question of having a favorable opinion one way or the other. I have thoroughly evaluated the article and the subject after It was brought to my attention and my edits following that were solely the result of those evaluations. Thank you Sajjad Altaf (talk) 21:37, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
- I won't discuss further whether it was canvassing or not. It seems you know a lot already. The main topic here is the removal of notability tag. -- SMS Talk 21:46, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
- I was asked for an opinion. I think the engineering/business career is possibly notable enough. But there is no point fighting over the tagging, or arguing here about notability , because if anyone wants to challenge the notability , the way to do it is with an AfD, and the community will decide. Based on my years of experience at AfD, I can predict that a reasonably modest article is likely to be accepted; an excessive one will certainly not be. The relevant policy is NOT MEMORIAL. If it looks like a family or professional tribute, it will be deleted. The best way of coping with this is to improve the article before it gets listed for deletion. The improvements needed here is further documentation about the important parts of his career and the remove of extraneous material. Details about his military service or his relatives are in the category of irrelevant material, and, as I wish to help the article if possible, I will remove them. I would very strongly advise not restoring the material I remove--it will inevitably lead to deletion. DGG ( talk ) 23:35, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
- I think the photo you just removed should have stayed, i believe that was a photo, cannot tell without restoring, is it possible that you can restore that, following:
, i see it in the preview, his name is there on it, it's about him and it should be there, i will appreciate it if you can restore it
Thank you, you can change the description if you find it inappropriate. Sajjad Altaf (talk) 00:04, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
