Alexander Ballingall (22 July 1847 - 30 November 1913) was a Scottish painter.[1]
Life
[edit]His father was William Ballingall Senior (2 July 1818 - 25 March 1904), a linen weaver and astronomer.
His mother was Jean Wilson (18 December 1818 - 25 March 1886). They married on 15 November 1841 in Largo, Fife.
Alexander Ballingall was born on 22 July 1847 in Largo, Fife.
His elder brother William Ballingall Jnr. (18 February 1840 - 14 January 1919) was an artist and engraver.[2]
Alexander married Marion Wilson (c. 1851 - 18 May 1898), a silversmith's daughter from Edinburgh. Alexander and Marion married in Edinburgh on 18 June 1885.[3]

[edit]He died on 30 November 1913 at Bangour Village Hospital at Dechmont.[4]
