"Blast from the past."

Hi, I'm Allen (Allen2) on English Wikipedia and I'm from Southeast Texas. To be honest, I will make an edit here at anytime as a popup (not that often), including some grammar corrections (and sometimes undo their vandalism edits if I saw that first). You can contact me by leaving me a message on my talk page (don't hesitate to ask me anything), then I'll respond to it as soon as possible when I have time.

I also used to be an editor on Fandom (previously Wikia), and I decided to be retired from editing there.

I'm also a huge fan of My Little Pony, though I won't tell anyone on Wikipedia about this.

Consider what is happening in Ukraine right now as of March 2022, I would pledge Wikipedia users to pray for that country and its people there as soon as possible. I like Russia too but we cannot allow that country lead an attack against Ukraine much longer, which I oppose the attack imposed by them.

I'm also a baseball fan, which is why I do with the editing of baseball-related articles on Wikipedia. In the All-Star Game and MLB playoffs, I tend to be the first user to add information and update the scores based from MLB.com website before other user does. The List of Major League Baseball postseason series article is to keep in mind on how many times that two baseball teams met during the postseason.

Talents

[edit]

Calendar dates including what day of the week they were born on

[edit]

One of my greatest talents is I know what day of the week they were born on, because I'm very smart at calendar dates without looking at the calendar. For example: Tara Strong, who voiced my all-time favorite pony character Princess Twilight Sparkle in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, was born on February 12, 1973; so that 1973 starts on Monday, February starts on Thursday, and the 5th/12th was on Monday; so she was born on a Monday.

Ear training in music + conclusive cadence identification

[edit]

Another talent is I have excellent hearing with ear training in music, because I'm very passionate with music. Since I learned about cadences and phrases from music theory, I also know what kind of cadence that the song ended at, such as they should end on perfect authentic cadence (PAC) (always V(7)-I chord progression with both chords in root position and the highest note is the tonic of the tonic (I) chord).

For example:

  • Flawless (We're Not Flawless) is a song from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic in "Fame and Misfortune" (S7E14) episode, so I heard this song that is mostly in D major, but I hear this first was in B minor (that was a clear modulation to me with that as a relative minor). This song ends the last note in both D and F♯ (F-sharp), which it ends on a D Major chord.
  • Despacito is a song featured by the Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and also featuring the Puerto Rican rapper Daddy Yankee. It became the most popular songs of all time, and its music video on YouTube is currently the most-viewed and also the most-liked video on the platform as of August 2017 with over 6.8 billion views and over 38 million likes. It also has more views than See You Again, Shape of You, and Gangnam Style. So this one is in B minor and ends the last note in B.
  • Shape of You is a song featured by Ed Sheeran and it became one of the most popular songs of all time, and its music video on YouTube is currently the second most-viewed video behind Despacito with over 4 billion views; so this one is in C♯ minor and ends the last note in C♯.
  • See You Again is a song featured by the American rapper Wiz Khalifa and also featuring the American singer Charlie Puth. It became one of the most popular songs of all time; and its music video on YouTube (that is used to be the most-viewed video before Despacito in month later) is currently the third most-viewed video behind Despacito and Shape of You with over 4 billion views; so this one is in B♭ major and ends the last note in B♭ (B-flat).

Miscellaneous

[edit]
  • You may be notable for me calculating the algorithm for the view count between Despacito and Baby Shark, the competition for the title of the most-viewed video on YouTube after "Baby Shark" overtaken "Shape of You" as the second most-viewed YouTube video, right here in one of my sandbox pages. That page may attract a lot of viewers from YouTube to look at it first for the narrowing view gap from "Baby Shark", and it's about to overtake "Despacito" as the most-viewed YouTube video later this year. Also, you may feel free to edit that page, but I will notice other users that they can edit only for viewer calculations.
