Biography

[edit]

I was born on the 17th of June, 1968 making me a Gemini born in the year of the Monkey. I lived most of my childhood in country Victoria (Australia), until I started work with the Australian Public Service in 1985, when I then made the move to the Big City (ie. Melbourne). I "retired" from the APS in 1998 after accepting a voluntary redundancy offer. Shortly after I left the workforce, I moved to Frisco, Texas to become a student.

Educational Life

[edit]

I attended Collin College from 2000 to 2005, where I received an Associates Degree in Applied Science (E-Business Media) and an Associates Degree in Arts. Upon finalizing my studies at CCCCD, I transferred to the University of North Texas, in Denton, Texas, and graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in May 2007. I intend to continue with graduate school in the field of Sociology.

Work Life

[edit]

During my career with the Australian Public Service (1985 to 1998), I worked in the following areas:

  • Department of Social Security, Commonwealth Employees Compensation Branch Office

  • Family Court of Australia
  • Attorney-General's Department
  • Insolvency and Trustee Service Australia
  • Recruitment Organizer for the Public Sector Union

Here is a summary of my work history since "retiring" from the Australian Public Service in 1998.

  • Immigration Equality
  • Frisco Association of Concerned Taxpayers (FACT$)
  • Electoral campaigns (mainly local government)

I currently live with my husband in our suburban style home with our adopted cat, Max.
