I am ✠ Emperor of Byzantium ✠(talk), I'm from United Kingdom and try to be active on Wikipedia as much I can, given time restraints, with academia (and travelling), but I do try when I can to add worthwhile and valuable edits.
I'm not one for confrontation; in fact, I deplore violence of any kind... However, as one quote I stand by says... "Never start a fight... But always finish it" I don't like to be bullied or pushed around, for reasons those who know me understand. If I have made a mistake on this platform, please don’t take it as vandalism! and if I defend myself, don't take that as me being unreasonable. For the most part, I’m a WikiGnome and just happy to clean up and improve articles in the background with little to no fuss... but a thank you once in and while would not go amiss...
As the name suggests, I have a background in the history and culture of Later Roman Empire, Byzantium, the fall of Constantinople and wider Ancient History in and around the Balkans, visiting and working in the region. I have also studied (and lived in) Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the sad plight of peoples during and after the Bosnian Genocide, and now call Bosnia my second home. I have also travelled further afield, mostly in Europe (and a bit of Africa) and almost always by rail (better for the environment!), and more often than not, find myself back in The former Yugoslavia. But I’m always planning that next adventure... However, my interests vary widely, from politics, geography, religious buildings and even Railways... however, I have found myself spending a lot of time in Greece (or instead on ) Both translations and new articles.
However, I'm hoping to work on more Roman and Yugoslav articles in the months ahead.
I have published articles on the aforementioned subjects, which I edit accordingly. However, I also edit articles that I 'happen upon' to make Wikipedia that much better. If you want to know more about me and my beliefs, interests and points of view, take a look at my userboxes.
How come no one has awarded you for such dedication to covering railways and stations? I'm not into this topic, but you've certaintly done a lot of work and deserve recognition for it! -Vipz (talk) 17:48, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
