Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Texas Rangers minor league players, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Dominican and Bani (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Overlinking

[edit]

Please don’t link “American”. That is classic overlinking. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2604:2000:E010:1100:3E:A2B4:CBC0:9B25 (talk) 07:09, 21 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Procedure for when a re-direct makes debut

[edit]

I saw your comment on the Royals minor league players edit. First of all thanks for all your work you've done here so far. You're new here and you've picked up on things quite quickly. Now how to un-direct pages when they are called up: First type in the players name which will re-direct to the section on the minor league players page. Scroll up to under the title where it says " (Redirected from "example")", click that link and just copy/paste the info from the players minor league page into that link. Just make sure in the edit summary you leave an edit summary that says something like "taken from "example" minor league page" for WP:Attribution purposes (here's an example [1]).

If you have any questions or if this is confusing just let me know.-- Yankees10 02:21, 16 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the instructions.-- AdamBGregory 04:12, 16 May 2019‎ (UTC)

No problem. Just another thing, when the player has an accent in there name, make sure you put the info in the correct article with the accent. See Luis Arráez as opposed to just Luis Arraez for example.-- Yankees10 22:59, 17 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Understood, my apologies.-- AdamBGregory 23:05, 17 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Geoff Hartlieb, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Highland High School (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Don't forget the talk pages

[edit]

Thank you for creating new pages, like Trevor Kelley. When you make these pages, please don't forget to create the associated talk page. For him, it would be tagging it with the Biography project, the Baseball project, and North Carolina. (I think UNC has a taskforce too.) Check out WP:TALK and Wikipedia:WikiProject for more info. Or just ask me. – Muboshgu (talk) 23:28, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Cole Sulser

[edit]

On 17 September 2019, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Cole Sulser, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Major League Baseball player Cole Sulser has two degrees in engineering from Dartmouth College? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Cole Sulser. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Cole Sulser), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Question

[edit]

Don't take this the wrong way because your work here is excellent and you've been an awesome addition to this site. I'm just curious is there any strategy to some of the players you've been adding to the minor league pages recently? Some of them seem kinda random and don't have many sources. These pages are mostly reserved for top prospects and guys close to the majors who have sources.-- Yankees10 03:17, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Well I do suppose I should have in retrospect waited until after the deadline came and the finalized players added. But the players I have added recently have been individuals that the team beat writers / prospect publications have narrowed down to the likely 40-man additions happening tomorrow, such as De La Cruz and Contreras today for Atlanta. I'll refrain from adding any others until the teams announce. AdamBGregory (talk) 03:36, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Oh ok, I didn't even put that together. Yeah i'd hold off unless they're locks like De La Cruz was or if they have a good amount of sources. I'm guessing most of these guys you added will probably be added tho.-- Yankees10 05:06, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Tyler Thomas (baseball)

[edit]

Hey @AdamBGregory, I was wondering if you knew what happened to Tyler Thomas. You mentioned he was released but I couldn't find anything. I'm a big baseball fan (Go Giants!) but I had no idea where to even look. I just wanted see if the page needed to be deleted or redirected to a new team. Thanks for the help! Dr vulpes (💬📝) 01:52, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies I didn’t go about deleting in the proper way. Team announced he was released yesterday. He’s an older relief organizational depth kinda guy. I actually watched him pitch in Frisco a couple of weeks ago, and he has dropped down to sidearm with below average pitch quality. Non-prospect type. https://www.milb.com/frisco/roster/transactions AdamBGregory (talk) 09:51, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
