A Zed and Two Noughts poster
Hello. I noticed you uploaded the file File:A_Zed_and_Two_Noughts_poster.jpg. I am afraid that I believe that this is not the original theatrical poster, but rather seems to be a fan-made theatrical poster which is being sold currently at https://www.etsy.com/listing/68416716/greenaway-movie-poster-set-a-zed-two . I discovered this by using Google "search by image" (on the source of the uploaded image) and restricting my search to content prior to your upload (content before 4 August 2013). I believe that the image was drawn by the creator of the above Etsy listing because if one uses Google to "search by image" prior to the posting of the Etsy listing (before 29 March 2013, which is what Google says is the first appearance of the Etsy listing), the poster you uploaded does not appear in Google's search results.
I am not sure how to correct this situation, so I am informing you (the uploader) about it. I believe you were acting in good faith when uploading the image, but this error should be corrected. --90.203.237.42 (talk) 21:11, 6 June 2014 (UTC)

Hi Widr. The user ,Benjulius90, we'd encountered removing/adding content at the page has left an innocent looking message on my talk page, stating the reason of his edits. He has also requested me to keep the edits, providing a reason. You have much more experience than me and I will be grateful if you just took a glance at it. I wasn't wrong in denying him, was I? It seems the reason you don't appreciate what I added on Kenneth Waller is that we don't say what we don't know, only what we know, and ask how would I prove that anyway? See his death certificate?18:28, 14 June 2014 (UTC)Grand Slam AF

Edits
Dear Widr,
how are you? Disruptive editing? It is my page. You have now reverted an article draft 3x after the article was rejected, in our opinion, for no concrete reason as the article was well supported and got the green light from your peers prior to submission. Please refrain from putting materials back that have been rejected as "having issues" Please advise.
You have also written that I am not able to blanket out since I am not the sole author. Who else is an author? Kstar 1 (talk) 16:12, 20 June 2014 (UTC)
Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kstar 1 (talk • contribs) 16:00, 20 June 2014 (UTC)
- Hello @Kstar 1: Yes, you created the article, but you do not own it. There have been other editors fixing the article since you created it, and that's why you cannot simply blank it. You can, however, propose it for deletion if you feel that the concerns raised are beyond repair. Widr (talk) 16:51, 20 June 2014 (UTC)
Kenneth Waller
I'm the same person as Grand Slam AF; sorry to be pestering you, if you think I am, but, like I said, the way you didn't appreciate what I added - 'No explanation has ever been offered as to the cause of his death' (of course, this is regarding Kenneth Waller, as you can see in the subject) - is possibly because, on Wikipedia, we don't say what we don't know, only what we do know, and you'd ask 'how would I prove that anyway? I see his death certificate?'Ofcdeadbeat (talk) 23:02, 20 June 2014 (UTC)Ofcdeadbeat

- @Reer Woqooyi: You can continue the discussion on the talk page of the article, but you cannot remove content from the actual article unless there is a consensus to do so. Also, additional notes (such as "Disputed check talk pages") do not belong to the article.Widr (talk) 19:54, 1 July 2014 (UTC)

Hello Widr,
Looking over your page here it appears to be the case that you are often in disagreements with other Wiki editors because you edit their own submissions without cooperating with them. This is exactly what you did with my comment at the Celilo Falls Wiki entry. I'm going to put my entry back into the article because it was factually accurate and written with appropriate register. There is nothing wrong with pointing out what anybody from the Columbia river region know all too well: there are very many people from all walks of life who want Celilo Falls back and the dam removed, regardless of your own sadly evident and counter productive personal political biases. It's a shame there are people like you on Wikipedia trying to interfere with other people's submissions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.71.29.7 (talk) 10:48, 4 July 2014 (UTC)
- I suggest you read WP:NPOV and WP:OR. Those two links should help you understand why your edits were reverted. Widr (talk) 11:26, 4 July 2014 (UTC)
respectful question
please allow me a berth as i ask my question. allow me to preface this query by stating i have NO IDEA who is "in charge" of wikapedia...i dont understand who is authoring&documenting all the information. that being said: i enjoy reading wikapedia synopses on many topics as a quick means to better understand what i(we/humans) do not understand. i apologize for my ramblings, i have a highly active mind&am very curious about the minutia of all things. to the point: i am wondering..do you get paid/is it an employment to write&update information on wikapedia, or is it just..basically, can just any person write (for instance) "Plot" summaries of movies? i apologize that i was not consice in this "post". 98.223.17.97 (talk) 19:38, 5 July 2014 (UTC)

Changed fact on johnny Mathis page
Hello Widr,
I am new to Wikipedia, and I also don't understand who may be "in charge" of it. Facebook seems to be a lot like that as well. That said, I had only edited one article so far on Johnny Mathis, and I think you may be the person who undid my correction. I am positive that the statistic "350 Million records sold worldwide" is incorrect. I actually counted the sales records I could find (RIAA and BPI awards only) and even they don't come close to totaling 350 million records. It just always seemed like a very high number to me, so that's why I tried to check it, and then change it here. Just curious if you're the user who changed my correction, since I'd love to know if there are other sources to calculate the actual number. Lovehistory14 (talk) 23:24, 23 July 2014 (UTC)Thanks! LoveHistory14 July 23, 2014
- Hello. I am not the one who has reverted your edits. As a matter of fact, I have never edited the article in question. Out of curiosity, what brought you to my talk page? Widr (talk) 05:00, 24 July 2014 (UTC)
File:John Rivas with BONZZO's 1999 Pictorial Cancelation.jpg
Hi, I noticed that you didn't accept my rename request because of the spelling of cancellation. I just had a conversation about this (here, at the Teahouse) because I was of the same persuasion about the single "l" version but others have persuaded me that two "l"s are still correct, even though it may change in the future. I hope that you will reconsider and make the change. Jodosma (talk) 07:58, 24 July 2014 (UTC)
- I searched around a bit, and it appears to me that both versions are indeed accepted. There doesn't seem to be a consensus for one version over another on Wikipedia either. Currently the file is heading for deletion, so I don't see a need to rename it at this point. Widr (talk) 08:26, 24 July 2014 (UTC)
- There may be some more files with the same difference in the title. Do you think I would be wasting my time by requesting renames for them? Jodosma (talk) 10:10, 24 July 2014 (UTC)
- Well, usually file renaming should be kept to minimum. Since this is not really a spelling error, I would probably focus on more obvious errors if I were you. Widr (talk) 10:25, 24 July 2014 (UTC)
- OK, ciao. Jodosma (talk) 10:48, 24 July 2014 (UTC)

You are supposed to moderate, not impose your own whims and personal opinions
Widr said: "I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Provincetown Harbor because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, you can use the sandbox."
What the heck?! Because it didn't appear constructive to YOU?! As a historian and museum manager I assure that EVERYTHING I write is constructive. Hi, the referred page is neither of a field I understand nor of a topic I would explore. A least, I do not think so. It could be due to the random IP that someone else was assigned before when he or she made the change. Best wishes, 180.216.66.245 (talk) 14:58, 17 September 2014 (UTC)
McDonalds salutes you
Thankyou Wdir, Perhaps my entry did lack a constructive tone and was a wee bit subversive. 'tis a pity that McDonalds have invaded the North Easten suburbs, I see McDonalds trash on all the surrounding roads, sealed and unsealed. But I guess McDonalds has the right to maintain a presence on Wikipedia, and the feelings of local residents who have to deal with the rubbish of McDonalds and the eye sore of its existance are not particularly important; one must maintain a certain amount of objectivity and not invoke the wrath of the corporate police by voicing subjective opinions.
My humble apologies,
In McDonalds ethos we trust ;)

Reverted my edit of List of Blade Runner characters
Hi Widr. I don't know why you reverted my changes. The page had clearly been vandalized, as Han Solo and Chewbacca are Star Wars characters, not Blade Runner characters. Whoever changed it in the first place was clearly making a joke (Harrison Ford plays Han Solo and Rick Deckard, and Hannibal Chew is similar to Chewbacca).

St. Lachtain's GAA changes
Hello i received a notification a few minutes ago informing me of a rude remark I had apparentally left on the St. Lachtain's GAA page. This is not the first time I have received such notifications and similar incidents have occured in the past. I live some distance from my sibling in fact and have never made an account or an edit on wikipedia. My question is why am I receiving such messages, surely it must be obvious from the ip address? I agree the edits are unnacceptable but I am not is responsible for the child and his behaviour and would not like to be held to account as such.
