Simple rename

• Log in to your present account.
• Click here to place a request.
  • Replace the text "CURRENT" with your present username.
  • Replace "NEW" with the username to which you wish to be renamed.
  • Fill in a reason where indicated but do not add anything in the "subject/headline" box.
  • Replace "FULLURL" with the full url of a link to a diff on your home wiki where you have confirmed that it really is you making the request.
• Make sure that you have spelled both names correctly. Save the page.
• Check back periodically to answer any questions that may arise regarding your request. Do not be surprised if you suddenly cannot log in to your old account; this just means that you should log in under your new name, as the request has been fulfilled.
• Please be patient. It may take a few days for your request to be completed.

Usurpation

• Log in to your present account.
• Click here to place your request.
  • Replace "CURRENT NAME" with your current username.
  • Replace "REQUESTED NAME" with the username you wish to usurp.
  • Replace "FULLURL" with the full url of a link to a diff on your home wiki where you have confirmed that it really is you making the request.
  • You may include some reason for the change beneath the template if you wish. Leave the "Subject/headline" field blank.
• Make sure both names are spelled correctly. Click "Save page".
• Your request is now complete and ready to be processed. We will get to it as soon as we can.

Partial usurpation

• If you do not have an account already at the English Wikipedia and have already unified your global account, you do not need to create one. You may place your request without logging in. (However, if you are concerned about your privacy, you may create an account like "<Your username> (SUL)"; it is not required, though.) Please make sure to confirm on your home wiki that the IP making the request really is you.
• Click here to place your request.
  • Replace "REQUESTED NAME" with the username you wish to usurp.
  • Replace "CONFIRMATION LINK" with the full url of a link to a diff on your home wiki where you have confirmed that it really is you making the request.
  • Beneath the template, note any other relevant information. Leave the "Subject/headline" field blank.
• Make sure the name you want is spelled correctly and that the confirmation link works. Click "Save page".
• Your request is now complete and ready to be processed. We will get to it as soon as we can.
