Zuihō class aircraft carrier
[edit]These two ships were part of the Imperial Japanese Navy's prewar policy to build ships that could be readily converted into aircraft carriers, disguising the size of its buildup. They were converted from submarine tenders before the start of the Pacific War. Shohō became the first carrier lost by the Japanese during the war while Zuihō lasted until 1944 before being sunk by the Americans.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 18:09, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
- Support. I saw the parent article added to WP:GAN in my watchlist not long ago and knew this wasn't going to be long in coming. Given that the image is public domain, perhaps a cropped version which leaves some of the sea and sky out would be better for this template, it'd create less empty space in the box. Just a thought. I think this topic meets the criteria. All five articles are GAs, including the album and its two singles, as well as two songs from the singer's previous album that are included as bonus tracks. --Pancake (talk) 10:22, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
- Support. Seems to be in order. I'm not convinced the bonus tracks are necessary here (would be better just sticking to the standard track list in my opinion, keep the other articles for a topic for the album they're originally from), but I'm not going to treat that as a negative. This is my first foray into the world of topics, so this might be a bit of a punt, but I feel that these three articles comprehensively cover the minor 2009 BBC show Chartjackers. The single "I've Got Nothing" was the end product of the series, hence its inclusion here. All three articles are either good or featured. I hope that this means that the topic qualifies. Thankyou all in advance. --VoBEDD 18:01, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

- Support Was asked to look into this by the nominator, as I'm familiar with the series. As he/she says in the nom, it was a very brief series, so there's not really much else that you could say about it. I'd say that those articles pretty comprehensively cover the show, therefore I believe that this meets the Good Topic criteria. Nice going! This is my first GT nomination, so here goes. The topic is the album The Generous Mr. Lovewell by the Christian rock band MercyMe. I've improved all of these articles of GA-quality, and they are now eligible for GT-class. Against all applicable GT-criteria:
- 1(a). There are at least three distinct articles.
- This is met as there are a total of four articles here.
- 1(b). The articles have a clear similarity with each other under a well-defined topical scope.
- The lead article (ie. topic) is the album, while the three other articles are its singles.
- 1(c). All articles in the topic are linked together, preferably using a template, and share a common category or super-category.
- All articles are linked using two different templates - the template on The Generous Mr. Lovewell is Template:MercyMe, while the singles utilize Template:MercyMe singles. Additionally, the album is linked to Category:MercyMe albums while the singles are linked by Category:MercyMe songs, both of which are sub-categories of Category:MercyMe.
- 1(d). There is no obvious gap (missing or stub article) in the topic. A topic must not cherry pick only the best articles to become featured together.
- As no pages for album cuts have been created (yet), there is no gap in coverage. The album and all its singles are covered.
- 1(e). For overview topics, every article within the scope of the topic that is not included in the topic should also be within the scope of a non-lead article that is included in the topic.
- As this is not an overview topic, this does not apply.
- 2. The topic has an introductory and summary lead article or list.
- The lead article is the album page, The Generous Mr. Lovewell.
- 3(b)(i) All articles are at least featured lists or good articles.
- All article featured are good articles.
Thanks in advance for your time reviewing this nomination. --Toa Nidhiki05 19:52, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

- On "Beautiful", the YouTube link is run on VEVO and is thus region-blocked, presumably outside the US. As far as I know, that is still a valid link. I removed the other one on the other hand as that link is indeed dead.
- As for the Lovewell link, the page was simply moved - I fixed the link and it works now. Toa Nidhiki05 20:13, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

I feel this topic meets the Good Topic criteria because it is a well-defined and exhaustive group of articles, each of a high standard, which are presented in a manner which aids their understanding in relation to one another. I plan this to be the first topic of a larger series of topics, in case any of you are wondering why this is only "Volume 1"—the various Volume articles will lead into a larger series under the Mythology of The X-Files banner. Five of these articles will overlap with the already-passed GT on the series' first season, but I don't see this as a problem as both topics have markedly different scopes, well-explained by their parent articles. This is a collection of the twelve Ian Fleming James Bond novels and two collections of short stories. Having them as a collected good topic is a long-time goal of the WP:BOND project. All the relevant books have reached GA status and the main article—List of James Bond novels and stories has recently reached FL status. - SchroCat (^ • @) 19:35, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

- Support - Seems cohesive. Is this going to be part of a broader topic in the future? I'd be interested in seeing how such a thing would be structured (this as a subtopic with everything else as articles, or other smaller topics to group the "continuation" stuff, etc?). however the book report has one start class article Inspirations for James Bond. Jim Sweeney (talk) 19:26, 5 February 2012 (UTC)- Inspirations for James Bond is at GA review now, and dosen't really fit into the topic anyways. Sven Manguard Wha? 20:27, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
- I put "Inspirations" into the Books report as it fits in well and is related, but is not part of the GT process. The nomination process page does allow for this ("sometimes a book covering a wider scope than the topic will be appropriate"). As Sven has pointed out, the article is currently GA nominated and awaiting a reviewer to pick it up. - SchroCat (^ • @) 09:06, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
- "Inspirations" is now a GA: the book report should update shortly. - SchroCat (^ • @) 10:12, 16 February 2012 (UTC)

- Support -- I reviewed a few of these novel articles and and was impressed with them not just on an individual basis but with the consistency betwen them -- perhaps not that surprising seeing as it was pretty well a one-man band putting them together, but I also noted more than once that when I picked up on a style or structural point in one article, Schro made a habit of making similar changes to the others to ensure that consistency. Well done! Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 23:53, 6 February 2012 (UTC)

- Support Although I would rework the book into including the other James Bond novels (this has no effect on the validity of the topic IMO, I just think that the book ought to be slightly larger than the topic). Also, I just cleaned up these articles with my scripts and I think I ought to mention to whoever wrote them that
|accessdate=
should only be used when URLs are present (long version), as several of those were present. Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books} 02:14, 27 February 2012 (UTC)- Thanks for the clean up - and the note about the accessdate—a fault of mine, I'm afraid: I tend to drop it into everything by habit. In terms of the book, adding the other novels would mean adding an extra 33 articles to it (plus possibly the 5 Young Bond and 3 Monneypenny books), plus the article about uncollected short stories. Wouldn't that make it too bloated to be reasonably useful? Cheers - SchroCat (^ • @) 09:05, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
- Maybe it'd be best as another book then, but 30-40+ articles more isn't unheard of. Compare with say Book:Canada or Book:AC/DC. Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books} 18:13, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
- OK - I'll drop in the others shortly. I was thinking of doing a couple of topics with the other bits, but I think that's probably a bridge too far, so I'll beef up this books shortly. Thanks very much - SchroCat (^ • @) 23:02, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
