- Is this a building (

) or an artwork? Even if it is an artwork, it might be possible to keep it: the image is heavily used and it is likely that at least some article would allow fair use of it. Stefan2 (talk) 14:31, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- File:Barrel barbecue 3.jpg (delete | talk | history | logs).
- This is apparently a result of an improper move of File:Barrel barbeque 3.jpg: the file was duplicated by a different user and the old file got an F1 deletion. However, this means that the original upload history is missing. The licence (implying that the one who performed the improper move) took the photo looks wrong. Could any admin check the file information page of the original file and at least move over the correct author information? I'd like to move the picture to Commons, but it would be more practical to do that from the original file since it would give a better source for Commons. The text at this file page says "Larco Museum Collection. Free Use.". Do we have permission of that? Other files have a similar text. The uploader does not seem to be active anymore. A few of the uploads by this user has been deleted as copyvios - I did not check why.
I think a few of the files uploaded as own work should be safe to keep. MGA73 (talk) 17:39, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Alright, for those of you that don't have OTRS: An email came in on the 24th, and we sent back something roughly along the lines of "we'd like for you to be more explicit/specific about licensing" about two hours later. Personally, based on what they've said so far, we ought to give it a few more days before we consider deletion. The most likely outcome is that they write back and I spend an hour tagging all of the files with an OTRS ticket template and everything's golden. Sven Manguard Wha? 06:39, 3 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- I have looked at the OTRS and agree, lets leave this open, so i'm officially extending this for another 7 days from the original nomination time and we'll look at it then. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 08:17, 3 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The museum confirmed that she worked on the museum so I think that the files mentioned above as "own work" are 100 % safe.
As for the rest of the file I hope for a positive response soon. --MGA73 (talk) 14:17, 4 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- This image cannot date to the "1000s". I doubt the actual stained-glass windows dates over a century - who knows. Since it's a fairly good-quality coloured image I suspect it is not out-of-copyright due to age. Considering the uploader's talkpage of about one hundred deleted images, I'm certain this image was just pulled off the net without much thought. Brianann MacAmhlaidh (talk) 21:49, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Following a chain of guesses, this may be the glass of William de Warenne from the Gundrada Chapel of the Church of St John the Baptist, Southover, Lewes, which would be on the east wall, and here attributed [1] to Jessie Mary Jacob, 1930 (died 1933). (But we really need something better than a chain of guesses to determine copyright status and if in doubt, better safe . . . ). Agricolae (talk) 16:35, 20 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Comment {{PD-old-100}} is unlikely for a photo from "circa 1910"; the author would have had to die very soon after taking the photo. There is no proof of any pre-1923 publication (as stated by the other template). A 1927 publication is given. 1927+28 = 1955, so the copyright would have had to be renewed in 1955 (if I've understood the copyright system correctly). I've tried searching [2][3] for "Stillman" and "Robeson" without finding anything. I've searched [4] (which searches through all years) for "James Stillman" and "Anna Robeson Burr" without finding anything. Thus, I would guess that the 1927 publication is {{PD-US-no renewal}}, but copyright renewals are tricky and I think it's hard to know if I'm searching the records in the correct way, so it would be nice if someone else could comment my searching. Amazon suggests that the publication is a hardcover book. --Stefan2 (talk) 00:37, 19 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
